Unfortunately every game needs rules and so do we so here it goes.
1. Be respectful. Pretty much treat others as you would like to be treated.
2. All settings or characters need to fit into the idea of the game. No supernatural characters or characters with powers please.
3. Make sure you play to the period in which the game is set. No characters should be using technology that did not exist in the Regency and such things will not be tolerated. Also, make sure you play to the social standards of the time.
4. Multiple characters are allowed but please do not take on more than you can handle. If you feel you have taken on more then you can keep up with then please make some of them adoptable or inactive for whatever reason but do not continue to burn yourself out.
5. Standard roll playing rules apply; i.e. No God-Modding, no playing other characters or bringing characters you do not play in and writing for them, no Mary Sues or Marty Stus etc..
6. Writing should be in third person limited point of view (if you do not know what this means then ask).
7. Having more than one thread is permissible but please try and keep it simple. Do not go overboard and have a dozen threads going for one character. They can not be in a million places interacting with every character. Try and wrap one thread up before moving on to the next. Too much time hopping becomes confusing and it makes things easier this way.
8. Give notice if you will be away. We are fine with giving people real life time to catch up but if you don't tell us about it then we will not know. Please, contact Ashley if you will be away for any extended period of time.
9. If you leave the group you may request that your characters be made inactive, but you must provide a reason for their being inactive for the characters with which they are involved. If you do not make any requests to how you characters are treated upon leaving, then they will be made adoptable and open to whom ever wishes to take them up.
10. Keep any problems you may have with another player off the board and if need be then bring it up to the mod.
11. Once you join, please introduce yourself and familiarize with the game and the wiki board.
12 Please be sure to keep a balance with your characters. The ratio in our game is going to be 3:1, therefore, if you have 3 Females you would have to have at least 1 Male before you could make another Female. This is the same for males as well. There is not going to be any exceptions in this rule so please be sure that you meet the requirement.
13. We ask that you post on the main board at least once a week. I know that a lot of our members, myself included, frequently will write posts as JPs, that is absolutely permissible and we will not penalize you for this, but we do ask that you have posted to the main board with at least one of your characters, even if you only have one character, at least once a week. This post will have to be a decent post, consisting of at least 1-2 paragraphs. A paragraph can not be a sentence, it is at least 4-5 sentences, and if you can not write at least that much then try posting it as a JP. Most of us do have more than one character so this shouldn't be a big problem, and even if it isn't pertaining to your storyline, it might be fun to get your character out there in an open tag. It's always fun to make new connections in the game, and most are pretty good about answering open tags. If you can not meet this requirement, please refer to Rule #8 on giving notice when away.
14. No email is not an option with the groups. You must have at least Special notices sent through both the OOC group and the main group. This is especially important when it comes to the OOC group as information that is pertinent to the game is going to mostly be sent through the OOC group.
Note: Rules are subject change.
